Community-Based Victim Services
Are you a victim of crime?
Our community-based Victim Services program offers support to anyone who is a victim of crime, including childhood abuse, criminal harassment, gender-based violence and/or abuse, and sexual abuse. This service is a free, confidential alternative to police-based victim services.
What our Victim Services can provide:
- A client-centered and trauma-informed approach.
- Advocacy on your behalf.
- Referrals to other community organizations.
- Orientation and accompaniment to criminal court proceedings.
- Support to complete a Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP) application and/or Victim Impact Statement.
- Information and education on dynamics of abuse and gender-based violence.
- Criminal Court case results.
- Police file information.
- Safety planning.
- Emotional support.
- Internal referrals to other Elizabeth Fry Society programs, including our women’s transition house and counselling programs.
Our services are free and confidential.
