Location – Prince George
The Prince George and District Elizabeth Fry Housing Society is accepting application for a one year part-time Activity Worker. The Activity Worker will take direction from and provide support to tenants to organize and implement a social activity committee. This committee will plan social activities at Elizabeth Fry Place and interested individuals in the community.
Activities will be directed towards involvement of seniors and people living with disabilities that promote community engagement, volunteerism, mentoring of youth, creation of food programs and other activities desired.
The Activity Worker will also liaise with community partners to provide workshops covering various topics of interest facilitated by community experts. The Activity Worker will have the physical ability to perform the duties of this position, be able to work independently, to prioritize and organize work, to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds, to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and the ability to work as a team member in a busy environment.
Required Education, Training and Experience:
- Degree in recreation, social science or other pertinent background
- 6 months previous experience
- A valid Food Safe Certification (Level 1)
- Or and equivalent combination of education, training and experience
$16.50 per hour
12 hours per month
